Martin Luther on Spousal Abuse by Timothy J. Wengert

This text collects Luther’s interventions in a case of domestic abuse which happen when he was pastor of the church in Wittenberg, in 1524.

Luther’s taking a stance to protect the woman, interacting with the legal system of the city.
